Simulation
in Boarding House
A simulation using CFDSOF has been conducted for knowing the
air flow in my room in my Boarding house.
The following picture is the domain of my room.
The ventilation and opened window are set to be inlet, while the door is outlet, like shown in the following picture of “grid permukaan”.

The opened window normal velocity is 4 m/s while
for ventilation is 3 m/s. This is due to the filter installed in the
ventilation.
“Konstanta fisikal”
for the case above are:

Density = air density = 1 kg/m3

Viscosity = 10-3 Pa.s
-
Operational pressure is the atmosphere pressure.
“Atur model” and activate the “turbulensi” and activate the “K-Epsilon”.
The Result
The iteration is converge at 1364th iteration
like shown in the following picture.
The graph of the “residu” is shown by the following picture.
The following figure shows the velocity vector distribution
of the air flow.
We can see that almost all of the space of the room is
passed by air. It’s clear to know this by looking at the following picture.
However from the above picture, the air that pass the bed is
not much. So, it’s not so healthy for me when I spend my time in the bed. But usually
I direct a fan to make the air flow much enough.
