Video Tutorial Using CFDSOF for Flow in Cavity (Without "Faktor Pemberat")

Case

This is the link for tutorial video of our course on April 12nd 2013. It's how to use CFDSOF software for simulating flow called "Aliran Rongga". Let me tell you the case first.

Imagine there is a box without upper cover has dimestion p x l x t with:
p = 0.1 m
l = infinity and
t = 0.1 m

imagine that we see the front of the box is the square with dimension p x t = 0.1 m x 0.1 m. It filled with water. And the upper layer of the water has velocity of 0.5 m/s. We want to simulate the flow of the water in this box. This is the link for the tutorial video. It will be expired on April 28th 2013.  Result and Discussion

If you simulate without using "faktor pemberat", the result will be like the following picture.

 

If If you simulate using "faktor pemberat", the result will be like the following picture.

 

You can see that there is more vortex on the right-bottom of the picture compared to the result without using "faktor pemberat. It's because on the result using "faktor pemberat" the number of the cell is higher. The reason is there is a high gradient on the periphery of the square.
